| ciao a tutti,
"You are correct. The H2S training you attended is not Opito accredited.
The only centres which provide Opito accredited H2S training are :
Apt - Italy ETSDC - UAE Enertech / Megamas - Qatar Megamas - Brunei NAPT - Qatar Petrofac - Scotland Qatar Intl. Safety - Qatar Red Alert - Australia Sabre - Scotland Total Safety - Qatar Venture Gulf - Qatar
You will therefore note that in Europe there are only 3 centres which provide Opito accredited H2S courses. One can therefore conclude that though H2S certification is necessary in most of Europe, Mediterranean, North Africa and the US it does not necessarily need to be Opito accredited. In fact, in the North Sea there is usually no need to have an H2S training certificate prior to travelling offshore since this has become part of the offshore induction process.
The wider availability of Opito accredited H2S courses in the Gulf and Australasian regions would indicate that in these areas Opito accredited H2S courses are mandatory.
I trust the above proves helpful and remain at your complete disposal for any further info or assistance you may require."
